I have always wanted to make homemade soft pretzels, but have been afraid of them because of the “boiling” factor. So, when I found this recipe on a blog I follow called A Cultivated Nest, I knew I had to try it. I did and we LOVE it. In the past two weeks, I have made three batches of these pretzels. I get the dough ready about an hour before the kids get home from school and when they get home, we make them together. Super fun, super easy and super tasty!
You probably have all the ingredients you need in your cupboards.
- Kosher Salt
- Active Dry Yeast
- Toppings – Cinnamon & Sugar, Honey, Garlic powder & Parmesan Cheese, Mustard, Frosting, Salt, etc…
If you are interested in making these too, you can find the recipe and instructions here at A Cultivated Nest. I had to bake mine a little longer…more like 12 minutes. And as far as toppings go…the sky is the limit. The garlic & parmesan cheese pretzels were one of the faves in our house.
For St. Patrick’s Day, we will be shaking cinnamon & sugar on them and then drizzling green and white frosting over the top.
I know it looks like a lot of work, but it really isn’t…try it tonight!
